Oertel's 92 Louisville Beer T-Shirt
The Oertel Brewing Company was formed by JF Oertel in 1906. Oertel had purchased the Butchertown Brewery in 1892, the date that the brand '92 refers to. The Oertel Brewing Company lasted until 1964 when the Brown-Forman Distillers bought the company. But only 3 years later Brown-Forman closed the brewery in 1967. In the 1990’s a group of Louisville investors tried to reintroduce the Oertel’s '92 brand. Fritz Finger, an original brewmaster, was even brought out of retirement. However, the new Oertel's never took off and Oertel‘s '92 is now just known for it's collectable cans and Kentucky history.
